The University
of Cincinnati Medical Center
Over the past 30 years we have maintained a
relationship with the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and
The University Hospital, executing over thirty projects for the hospital and
academic colleges. In 1983, we worked with the Medical Center to create
its first master plan since the original campus plan of 1915.
Construction on the campus followed that plan until 1994, when we were
again engaged to develop a new plan for the “East” campus. Frank Zilm &
Associates, Inc. programmed major additions to the University hospital
and teaching spaces for the Colleges of Medicine, Allied Health and
Pharmacy. Hospital projects have included new facilities for surgery,
emergency, NICU, critical care, imaging, and outpatient services. We
programmed (in conjunction with Earl Walls & Associates, Inc.) the Vontz
Molecular Research Building and the recently completed CARE addition
(shown above) for the College of Medicine, and developed a “backfill”
strategy for space being vacated in the existing Medical Sciences
Building.
